TITLE: "Mom's House, Dad's House for Kids: Feeling at Home in One Home or Two"
AUTHOR: Isolina Ricci
PUBLISHER/PRICE: Fireside / $15

"Purpose: Providing children of divorced parents with coping skills and answers to common questions

Author's credentials: Ricci, who authored the original "Mom's House, Dad's House" for divorcing parents in 1980, is a licensed family therapist and director of the New Family Center in northern California.

Effectiveness: Ricci has a gentle touch that kids are sure to respond to. She earns their trust by treating with respect the issues that loom large for children but might escape a preoccupied adult's notice - like how hurtful it can be to leave a pet behind when going to dad's house. The book includes several great tools, like the "Words to Try" feature - suggested phrases to help kids articulate their feelings."
