" A multidisciplinary Matrimonial Commission was established in New York State in January 2004 by the state's chief judge, Judith S. Kaye. The commission was asked to look at the processes utilized in handling divorce and custody cases. A report was recently issued by the commission (the report and the appendices with suggested forms can be found on the Internet at under the designation Matrimonial Commission). " I saw this report recently but hadn't had time to digest it. Now someone else has, so it's nice to pass it on. The New York research should be helpful to all of our courts as they grapple with processing these cases. And, while the practice tips seem like common sense, sometimes that is all too uncommon!
