John Plymire moved to Kentucky at eighteen years old to play football for the Georgetown College Tigers. He remained a Kentucky resident until moving to Southern Indiana in 2016. He has lived in Caen, France while studying overseas as an undergraduate and in various other locations throughout the world via his service in the United States Army.
Mr. Plymire graduated from Georgetown College in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2001 and received his license to practice law in September of that year.
In the summer of 1999, following his first year of law school, Mr. Plymire attended basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He subsequently joined the University of Kentucky ROTC program, and, in May 2001, he commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. Mr. Plymire began his military career as a field artillery officer before joining the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in 2004. Mr. Plymire is a combat veteran, having deployed to Afghanistan with the 1/25th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan.
Mr. Plymire has handled a variety of diverse and complex legal matters over the course of his career. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having litigated civil cases, family law cases and criminal cases involving murder, rape and assaults. He currently focuses on family law matters, putting his vast experience to work helping people through a challenging time in their lives. Mr. Plymire also advises on a diverse array of military issues.
