Vanessa Durham joined Goldberg Simpson as a Partner in 2025 after gaining extensive litigation experience in family, criminal and civil practices. Ms. Durham’s practice at the firm focuses on Family Law including divorce, child custody, mediation, Guardian ad Litem and parents’ attorney in child abuse and neglect cases, domestic violence, and child support matters. Ms. Durham gained significant experience in these and other areas of the law during her more than 15-year stint in private practice.

Prior to her time in private practice, Ms. Durham gained substantial trial experience as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in Jefferson County on both the General and Narcotics Division trial teams.

Additionally, Ms. Durham acquired meaningful corporate and Regulatory Affairs experience while working for a pharmaceutical company where she ensured FDA compliance and led corporate mediation between marketing and health care compliance.

Ms. Durham graduated Magna Cum Laude (Political Science and Philosophy) from the University of Louisville (1990) before graduating from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law with her Juris Doctor in 1994. She is admitted to the Kentucky and Indiana Bars and is admitted to practice before the United Stated District Court for Kentucky’s Eastern and Western districts in (1996), as well as being admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (1996).

When not at the office, Ms. Durham volunteers for Louisville Recovery Community Center and serves on the boards of ChooseWell Communities and LRCC. In 2018, Ms. Durham was named Volunteer of the Year by the Kentucky Lawyer Assistance Program (KYLAP). Ms. Durham recharges by spending as much time as she can with her family and her three dogs.
